What makes Telluride so special is that we're off the beaten path. That means you're not skiing down to a major highway and you won't even see any corporate businesses here. The journey to Telluride makes the experience just that much better. Below, are some travel tips on the best way to get to Telluride, Colorado.

Flying Straight into Telluride:

Getting to Telluride is a lot easier these days. Flying straight into Telluride Regional Airport is a breeze due to extensive renovations and improvements in the past 2 years. At 9,078 feet above sea level, the Telluride Regional Airport (TEX) is one of the world's highest airports. Once you've landed in Telluride, you are a short 15 minute drive from both Telluride and Mountain Village (weather depending). For daily flight info and general aviation questions, check out: http://www.tellurideairport.com/

Flying into Neighboring Airports:

Most visitors chose to fly into our neighboring airports due to better availability and weather. Montrose Regional Airport (MTJ) is the most popular option for most guests. Daily flights are offered by most major airlines (United, American, Delta, etc.). Montrose Regional Airport (970.249.3203) is 67 miles away and can be reached, to & from Telluride, by rental car or airport shuttle. The ride takes approximately 1.5 hours, weather depending. Durango/La Plata County Airport (DRO) (970.247.8143) is another great option with a very scenic drive. Grand Junction/Walker Field Airport (GJT) (970.244.9100) and Cortez Municipal Airport (CEZ) (970.565.7458) are further away from Telluride but still very easily accessible.
