Local's Best of Telluride-Activities

Best of Telluride Ski Runs
Best of Telluride Hike to Terrain

Expert Ski Run

Our locals chose 17 different expert runs as their favorite, so you know Telluride is a great place for expert skiing. The winner by a landslide though is Bushwacker.

Hike To Ski Run

In the past few years, Telluride has opened up some amazing hike to terrain for adventurous skiers. Our locals chose their favorite runs as Black Iron Bowl, Bald Mountain and Mountain Quail Run.

Starter Ski Runs

If you are a new skier or are looking for runs for skiers and boarders of all abilities, our locals choose the Galloping Goose as their favorites. It is built on an old railroad grade and includes some stunning views of the surrounding mountains. Honorable mentions also go to the Meadows, Double Cabins, Ute Park and Enchanted Forest.

Intermediate Runs

The hands-down winner is the aptly named See Forever run. Since it starts at the top of the Gold Hill chair lift, skiers get 360 degree views of the spectacular San Juan Mountains, and on clear days, the La Salle Mountains in Utah. Other local favorites are Sundance and Misty Maiden.

Day Off Activity

Southwest Colorado is literally a hotbed of geothermal activity, and the favorite day off excursion for locals is to enjoy one of the area hot springs that is created by that activity. From a luxurious day at Dunton or Ovis Hot Springs, a family day in the Ouray Hot Spring, or sneaking a dip in Rico’s Toxic Tub, there is no better way to relax on your day off of the mountain.

For a more active day, locals vote for snowshoeing, cross country skiing, snowmobiling, hiking or fly fishing.
