A Horizontal Skiing Adventure
Cross-country and skate skiing are a great workout and a unique way to experience the amazing trails in Telluride. Whether you prefer the vistas surrounding Telluride or in-town trails just outside your doorstep, there are an array of groomed options in the region.
Priest Lake - Priest Lake offers 10 kilometers of varied groomed trails, ranging from beginner to more difficult. Only the main loop is dog-friendly. Click here for a map of Priest Lake’s trails. Click here for additional information about the trail.
Trout Lake - Trout Lake is a 4.3-kilometer groomed out-and-back trail that goes through the Lizard Head wilderness. It is pet-friendly. Click here for additional information.
Mountain Village - Mountain Village offers an extensive groomed 15-kilometer trail system that ranges from beginner to advanced. These trails are open to skiers, hikers, snowshoers, bikers and dogs. Each trail is interconnected, starting at the Valley Floor and continuing to the winter trails on the golf course. Click here for a full map and more information about the trails.
Valley Floor - The Valley Floor offers 15 kilometers of open terrain on Telluride's doorstop. Trails originate at the west end of town and continue to the Lawson Hill roundabout. Dogs are prohibited on the nordic trails and are only permitted to a certain point on the other trails. For more information, click here.
