Conveniently located in the heart of Telluride, Ghostriders is a short walk from the ski lifts, downtown and Town Park.
Bedding: Queen bed and queen sleeper sofa. Pet-friendly condo.
This condo is located on the ground floor. From the garage, you walk into the condo and step into the living room with a gas fireplace, flat screen TV and DVD, CD player and a queen sleeper sofa. Windows are facing south towards the San Miguel river and river trail and a door opens up to a paved patio. Open to the living room is a full kitchen and dining area that seats 4. The bedroom is located off the kitchen with a queen bed. The bathroom on the hallway has a shower and tub combo.
Ghostriders has a common outdoor hot tub upstairs in the courtyard and laundry room. There is a parking garage at first-come-first-serve basis. Any additional vehicles can be parked at the Telluride commuter lot on the west side of town. Lift #8 and the Gondola are 2 blocks away, as is the main street of historic Telluride. The San Miguel River and hiking trail is right outside the condo door. Town Park is only a block away, so for summer festivals, this is an awesome place to be.

Great...but not without complications.

This was our second time booking a residence through TAL, last year we were in Etta Place. While the staff is always super friendly and helpful while booking, there has been similar issues concerning the readiness of the place upon arrival. This year we signed our rental agreement and got our digital key at 4:00pm. I still made it a point to check-in at the offices when we got into town, around 5:00pm. After business was taken care of we set off to Ghostriders and found the parking very convenient and we loved the location. However, when we walked into the room, what we saw (and smelled) was completely unacceptable. I wasn't positive that the previous tenants had checked out based on the conditions but went in anyways. The condo absolutely reeked of old food and booze. In the bathroom we found a full waste basket, hair, a razor in the shower. The bedroom was disheveled and the blind appeared broken (turned out they were just messed up from the people before but fine). The living area had the pull-out couch still opened with sheets and pillows strewn about. The dining area and kitchen were by far the worst. The dining table had old food left out on plates (meaning the dishes were not done), the fridge was packed with old perishable items, the kitchen counter had booze spilled out on the top with a hair dryer resting in the liquid (plugged in to an outlet) and a trail map soaking as well. I know this was booze based on the smell and the fact that the mostly empty bottle was sitting in the sink. On the floor were two large black trash bags with what appeared to be cleaning supplies and linens...this made me believe that folks had been by to clean but perhaps saved it for later due to the amount of work needed. I called the offices and a cleaning crew was sent immediately and I appreciated the timeliness. We were told we would be notified when the crew was done, and I try to be understanding, so we happily walked down the street to grab a drink while we waited. However, a call never came. Eventually we decided to go check on things and when we arrived, the crew was gone, condo cleaned (mostly), and dishes running. The crew did a pretty great job given what they were left with but things were still missed under the bed and in other areas. For the record, I do not AT ALL blame TAL for the conditions the condo was left in. I honestly can't believe tenants would treat a place in such a way and if I were TAL I would blacklist that group from renting again. What a nightmare! I have some photos of these conditions. So, the staff was helpful in booking, the location was great, the staff sent help immediately, the condo was nice once cleaned but...places should be cleaned before check-in time (especially with the auto check-in system in place and estimated arrival times given). The previous year our place was not ready until about 6:00pm or a bit later so that is twice in a row now that TAL wasn't prepared for us. Furthermore, I was in office to get my parking pass and I could have been stopped there and notified it wasn't ready. The cleaning crews could be slightly more thorough...and lastly, we never received a call back to notify us when the room was ready so communication was dropped there. I am giving 2 stars for cleanliness factor because what happened just can not be ignored. I would have given one star but the immediate arrival of cleaning crews was a bonus. I would have given 3 stars if we hadn't found items still not picked up. The conditions of the furnishing is marked down because the bed seems old and is a bit lumpy, a lamp is broken, and the blinds in the master bedroom are a hassle. Giving 4 stars instead of 5 for staff knowledge due to the lack of advanced notice that the room wasn't ready and not communicating back. This being said, everything else was great and again, I know it is not TAL's fault for the treatment of the condo by previous tenants. I still love how friendly and helpful the staff has always been despite issues and do plan to still look into future bookings with TAL, perhaps even this Summer. I just hope that if I do, the place is actually ready when I arrive and things can go a bit more smoothly. This is one of the only areas of improvement that I think could be looked into...and would definitely make a difference, especially to people who spent the past 8-10 hours prior to arrival in a car.

We have recognized a few "bugs" in our direct check-in process, and we have since addressed those issues to allow for a more seamless process. This day was certainly one of our larger arrival days of the winter, however we understand that doesn't permit anyone arriving into dirty accommodations. We would like to extend a 20% discount on your next stay, and this has been noted in your guest profile.
