To become an artist one must learn how to “see” - how to interpret the
world around you and filter it using your own unique vision and
expression. In this workshop students will learn how to converse in
color and form using a variety of artistic media: watercolors, pastels,
collage, printmaking, drawing and journaling. Contemporary and familiar
artists as well as composition, intent, and color will be discussed to
expand and define personal style. Open to students of all levels, the
workshop will use the synergy of thegroup combined with the delight of
visual exploration to provide the foundation for your artistic journey.
Size is limited to ensure that every participant has ample one-on-one
instruction. Materials: Call for supply list. About Susan X. Billings:
Susan X. Billings is a graduate of the Rhode Island School of Design
and currently splits her time between studios in southern Baja and
Ventura, California. From 1999 until 2006 Susan was an active Artist
Board Member of the Ah Haa School, and instructor, painter, and graphic
designer whose vibrant, signature paintings of the region can be seen at
The Telluride Gallery of Fine Art. Last year Susan was selected by
Colorado Homes and Lifestyles Magazine as one of ten most collectible
Colorado artists. As a past poster artist for the Sheridan Arts
Foundation Wild West Fest an the Telluride Wine Festival, Susan has had a
deep connection with the Telluride area. Having moved from the region,
she welcomes this chance to instruct again for the Ah Haa School.
