The Mountainside Inn is located along the San Miguel River in the heart of Telluride. It is comprised of four separate buildings, all of which are two floors with stair access (no elevators). Rooms may face the river, mountainside, parking lot or a neighboring building.
This kitchenette room provides you with a two-burner cooktop, mini-fridge, microwave, toaster, coffee-maker, and the pans and dishes you need to complete any meal. The queen bed and twin bed are all in the same room. The bathroom has a large exterior vanity area and a step-in shower.
Complimentary wifi is included. A well-stocked vending machine and coin-operated laundry are located on the property. There is no A/C at the Mountainside Inn.
The Mountainside Inn is just two blocks from the grocery store, and about a 10-minute walk from historic downtown Telluride. The river trail offers a delightful path through town, and the free in-town shuttle picks up about a 1/2-block from the Inn.
Please be aware that your room number may differ than the one on your reservation confirmation. The Mountainside Inn reserves the right to move reservations to a comparable room without notifying the guest.

Not great
Very old, musty (probably moldy), definitely didn’t feel great in here. Mattresses are uncomfortable, grateful for a kitchenette but no counter space or space to really do anything. Shower head got water everywhere, there was no way to wash your body off without getting hair wet. It was just really dated, likely improperly done remediations/renovations, overpriced. I think after the fees on Airbnb, 2 nights was $685 and it was not worth that at all. The staff was really friendly and helpful. I did get a call the next day insinuating that I had broken off a cabinet door, which I did not do and the accusatory tone wasn’t welcomed but understandable. These units really could use an overhaul and for what’s being paid to stay there, I would imagine that should be in the budget to do…- Anonymous U , Posted: 7/7/2025Thank you for taking the time to review your stay. Fall in Telluride
We stayed in room 316 at Mountainside Inn. It was a great experience. The room was very comfortable, and the location was perfect. We enjoyed the river walk to town and the gondola was very close. Clean, simple, and awesome location
We wanted to check out Telluride without breaking the bank. Compared to other places, the Mountainside Inn is very inexpensive, so we were wary. On arrival the manager, Kiefer, was very friendly, helpful, and gave us the lay of the land. The property is old, much older than the neighboring properties. It is also very well maintained. The locks worked flawlessly both for the rooms (keys), and the outside entrances (codes). The walls were refurbished with heavy-duty coverings, easily cleaned. The flooring, baseboards, and trim were all new-looking and mountain-appropriate. Appliances were old, but fully functional. Everything was very clean. The property was quiet. The parking situation can't be beat. We were able to park in the small lot on the property, but the property adjoins "Carhenge" the FREE public lot at the #7 Lift. ON our checkout day, we simply moved our car to Carhenge, about 30 feet from the Mountainside Inn property. There is a well-maintained path between Carhenge and the Mountainside Inn. Lastly, the Mountainside Inn abuts the Telluride resort. Our building was about 60 feet from the outer trail, so we could just walk up, put on our skis or board, and glide down to the #7 lift. Because of the proximity to both the resort and the town (You can walk everywhere), the Mountainside Inn arguably has the best location in Telluride. Lastly, the responsiveness of the staff was excellent. Our coffeemaker was missing a part, and a brand new unit was delivered to our room within the hour. DEPOSIT AND CANCELLATION POLICY (varies by property)
River Club, Villas at Cortina and See Forever Residences;
25% of the total is due at time of booking (non-refundable). Final payment is due 60 days prior to arrival.
If canceled less than 60 days prior to arrival all reservations are non-refundable and due in full.
Bear Creek Lodge condominiums, Aspen Ridge and Private Residences;
25% of the total is due at time of booking (non-refundable). Final payment is due 30 days prior to arrival.
If canceled less than 30 days prior to arrival all reservations are non-refundable and due in full.
Mountainside Inn, Bear Creek Lodge hotel rooms and Manitou Lodge;
25% of the total is due at time of booking (non-refundable). Final Payment is due 7 days prior to arrival.
If cancelled less than 7 days prior to arrival all reservations are non-refundable and due in full.
Cancellation Policy: Each deposit is non-refundable. Cancellations at any time will forfeit the deposit(s) paid to date. No additional fee will apply. Shortening of the stay after the final deposit has been paid will forfeit the deposit paid for the unused nights.
Alpine Lodging Telluride enforces the following policies at all times:
Check-in time: 4:00 p.m. Check-in location is detailed in your reservation confirmation.
Late Arrival: We do not have a 24-hour front desk. After hours arrival information and an after-hours emergency phone number is included in your reservation confirmation or pre-arrival email.
Check-out time: 10:00 a.m.
Refunds: No partial refunds will be made for early departures.
Card on File: A valid credit card must be submitted prior to check-in. Any damages incurred during your stay that require additional cleaning or repair expenses will be charged to the credit card on file. The amount charged is at the sole discretion of Alpine Lodging Telluride or its subsidiaries.
Smoking: All properties are NON-SMOKING. If any member of your party smokes in the unit, interior hallway, deck or patio, a $250 penalty and additional cleaning fee will be charged.
Management: While your reservation with Alpine Lodging Telluride is confirmed and guaranteed, we simply manage the property you are renting. If for any reason the property becomes unusable, we will do our utmost to find a comparable property, at the same cost. If we are unable to do that, we will provide a full refund.
Pets: Dogs are allowed only in designated properties, and limited to two (2). Management reserves the right to evict any guest whose dog is deemed a nuisance; in the event of an eviction, no fees will be refunded. Dogs must be registered with Guest Services upon arrival. Any evidence of unregistered pets will incur a $250 fine plus any additional cleaning, damages, and HOA Fines. Pet fees apply and vary depending on the property.
Housekeeping: Housekeeping services included in your stay vary by property. Additional services may be arranged in advance through the Guest Services team, for a fee.
Housewares: Linens (bedding and towels) are provided with your rental. For properties with kitchens, cookware, utensils and dishes are provided.
Hot Tubs: For those complexes with community hot tubs, the hours of operation are subject to the HOA regulations. Most complex hot tubs shut down during the spring and fall off-seasons.
Construction: We have a short alpine summer construction season so be prepared for detours, noise, and work zones peppered throughout the area.
Age Restriction: The minimum age of the primary renter is 21 for condos and homes and 18 for hotel properties.
Travel Insurance: We offer comprehensive travel insurance from Generali on all of our lodging reservations. This is optional coverage. We know that unexpected disruptions to travel plans can occur where you have to cancel your reservation due to an emergency. The Generali vacation travel insurance policy covers 100% of your lodging reservation cost if you have to cancel due to a covered emergency, such as sickness, injury or death, involuntary termination of employment etc. The coverage also includes certain travel delays. The cost of the travel insurance is 6.95% of your total lodging cost and the insurance can be added at booking or up until we charge your final lodging deposit. If you choose to add it at booking but change your mind, you have up to 10 days from the booking date to cancel the insurance at no cost.
